2 days to go!!!

Update Friday 11th March
Ironbridge Half Marathon – Sunday 13th March… only 2 days to go

Your race number with disposable chip will be issued to you at the registration desk. This is situated in the Visitor centre in Telford Town park near the main arena where the race starts and opens from 9am.
The Half Marathon will start at 10:30am so please arrive and collect your number no later than 10:00 am.
Save yourself a little time on Race Day by looking up your Race number here and taking a note of it.

The list will also be displayed at Registration just in case you forget and will show which queue you need to join.

Pins to attach your number are also available at the registration desk.

Please attach your race number to the front of your running shirt after filling in the form on the back.

Please note we have been advised there is a car show taking place near the Telford town park so the traffic will be a lot busier than normal around the Telford Town centre and the car parks. Please make sure you leave earlier than originally planned to avoid being caught up in traffic.

The Provisional Results will be available here shortly after race finish. Corrections occasionally need to be made so the final list will be available 2 – 3 days later.

Your feedback is important to us. Please take a moment after the race to rate it here and leave comments (good or bad).

Remember we have a Fun Run for the kiddies… just over a mile long, all ages are welcome. On the day entry only at the marquee in the main arena. Cost is £3 per entrant and we’ve got a fab goody bag for all taking part.

We’ve secured some discounts with a few local eateries at Southwater Square at the Telford Shopping Centre so if fancy a cuppa or a bite to eat after the race, upon production of your race number you’ll receive the following discounts:

· Harvester 20% (please book in advance to avoid disappointment)

· Severn Gorge – Carvery 20%

· Costa 10%

We have the fantastic photographer Brian Smith based on the Ironbridge again this year taking pictures of runners crossing the bridge so big smiles and thumbs up everyone.

Wow… it’s only 4 weeks to go until the Ironbridge Half marathon – Sunday 13th March

I hope you’re as excited as us Telford Harriers are and we hope you are well and enjoying your training.

What’s new for 2016…

We will have a large inflatable start/finish arch so you can clearly see where the start/finish area is

We have a few more Marshall’s en-route to keep you safe and guide you along your way, so more support and fantastic cheers and motivational boosts for you too

We’ve gone eco-friendly… our fabulous goody bags are now disposable paper bags

Race numbers – your timing chip is included in your race number

We are reaching out to our runners more with email communications this year

Countdown to race day

With only 4 weeks to go it’s still important you are prepared for race day, so here are a few tips for you…

  • Ensure your trainers are worn and your kit has been tested on a long run – blisters and chafing could bring your half marathon to a painful end
  • Finalise your nutrition and hydration strategy – make sure you can tolerate any gels or sports drinks you intend to use on race day (remember we have 4 water stations for you too)
  • Try to eat and drink healthier in the last few weeks – your body will function better and you’ll feel great too

Wishing you all the very best for race day and we’ll be in touch again soon.
