Club Events

Welcome to our Club Events!

Telford Harriers is a busy club; as well as our athletes taking part in events both nationally and internationally, we like to organise things a little closer to home.

Club Summer Handicap Series

 2008 Competition Details
1. This is an informal competition - please bear This in mind, if the standard of organisation is not quite what you are used to !!!
2. There may be NO route marshals. Competitors will be expected to complete the course using maps if necessary. We have tried to make the routes as straightforward as possible.
3.Total Race distance to be determined (May 2008)
4. Race order:
· Day I - The New Works 5k (road, tarmac path)
· Day 2 - The Harriers handicap 3k (3.09k) in conjunction with the Club Handicap (What's the handicap? see above)
· Day 2 - A surprise (yet to be announced)
· Day 3 - The Wrekin Whiz (about 5k, 1320ft. A small mountain - or big hill)
· Day 4 - The Brit Burn Up 5k (provisional)

5. The Wrekin Whiz does not have a route map; competitors are expected to stick to the obvious tourist path up and down the hill to ensure fairness.
6. We are asking competitors to record their own times, as we can not guarantee official timekeepers for this event.
7. Please let the organiser know your finishing time, after you have completed the course.
8. Finishing positions will be calculated for each stage, and also overall Tour time.
9. For members of Telford Harriers, it is possible to do the Tour by proxy (ie. not on the day). This Proxy tour must be completed in 4 consecutive days (or less), there must be no breaks, and times must be passed to the Organisers to qualify for a finisher's award.
10. There are no prizes but every finisher will be awarded a t-shirt.
11. Competitors take part in the Tour at their own risk, as it is an informal event there is no provision for medical or other back-up.

We hope you enjoy the Tour of Telford, as others have done in for the past few years, and we welcome your comments or ideas for improvement!
