Welcome to our Cross Country Page
Telford Harriers have taken part in off road events since the
Club's early days. We originally competed in the North Wales Cross Country
League before applying to join the
Birmingham & District League in 1997 and the
North Staffordshire League a couple of years
later. We also have a team in the Midland Ladies League and have completed in
the Midland and National Cross Country Championships on a number of occasions.
The Club Mens' Cross Country Secretary is currently vacant; the Ladies'
Secretary is Pete Hough. We can be contacted at

Valley Park
After 3 weeks of dry, sunny weather, guess what? Yes,
the rain came down. It poured down before the start of the women's race
and also during the men's race. Spirits weren't dampened too much
though, and with several first-timers out our results were encouraging.

Quite cold and wet, but not as vicious as in previous years. Both men's and ladies teams did well (both 3rd in their respective divisions. The men's team missed out on promotion by just one point )

How to get to Cross-Country venues
Directions to Senneleys Park Cross Country
Midland Ladies League Newbold Comyn, Leamington (Streetmap)
Directions from Telford - M54 - M6 - At junction M6 4a, exit toward M1/M42/M40 (0.1 mi) Take the exit onto M42 toward London/Warwick/M40/Solihull - At junction 3a, exit onto M40 toward London/Warwick/Stratford - At junction 14, take the 1st exit onto Warwick Bypass heading to Leamington - Continue to follow A46 - Go through 3 roundabouts (2.9 mi ) - At the 3rd roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto A452 Kenilworth Road. Continue to follow A452 Kenilworth Rd. Follow A452 into town and keep on road until you reach mini-roundabout - go right into
Clarendon Avenue then sharp left into The Parade. At junction turn left into Warwick St which become Willes Rd. Turn left into Newbold Terrace E.
Birmingham League Div 3 - Droitwich High School (click for Streetmap location)
Directions from Telford * M54 - M6 - M5. Travelling South on M5, leave at Junction 5 and follow signs for Droitwich. Continue along A38, passing the Little Chef on the right, and the Chateau Impney on the left. At the traffic lights, carry straight on along the dual carriageway. At the large roundabout (Homebase on the left), carry straight on. Take the next exit off by the bypass and turn 1st left at the roundabout into Ombersley Way. After about half a mile turn left into Briar Mill, over the humps and Droitwich High School is on the left.
North Staffs Cross Country - Lyme Park. From Newport take A519 via Eccleshall vito J15 M6 (Newcastle) and then take 2nd left which continues to be A519 into Newcastle. Go right at the 2nd roundabout into Stafford Avenue and park at Fitness First or the Bowling Green; changing/ toilets are at the Cricket Club
North Staffs Cross Country - Park Hall (streetmap) From Telford take the A518 to Newport then the A519 to Eccleshall. At Eccleshall pick up the B5026 to Stone. At Stone pick up A520 and proceed through Meir Heath and Meir. Turn left onto B5040 for Weston Coyney / Adderley Green. Park Hall location is on the right.
North Staffs & BL Cross Country - Stafford Common (streetmap) From Telford take the A518 to Stafford. At the traffic lights by the station turn left onto Station Road; follow the road around turning right at the island onto Chell Road. At the next island turn left picking up the A34, Stone Road. Head for Stone, straight over the next island, approximately half a mile down the road at the Traffic Lights turn right into North Avenue, Sir Graham Balfour School it at the end of the road.
North Staffs Cross Country - Westwood High School, Leek (streetmap) From Newport take the A519 to Eccleshall. At the first small island in the town turn left. At the second small island in the town turn right onto the B5026 Stone Road. In Stone pick up the A520 follow the signs for Longton/Leek. Stay on the A520 heading towards Leek. At the “T” junction in Leek (in front will be an old church). Turn left and then bear left into West Street, continue down West Street past the Britannia Public house, after half a mile West Street becomes Westwood Road. After passing between two schools and down incline, old Gate House on left. Take the fifth turn on the right this is the car park for the school.
