Fell and hill running at the Harriers is a small, but important... and above all..fun part of the club!!

ERCALL STOMPERS LEAGUE 2011
It's taken me all Summer to catch up..
..but I've managed it. Here is the latest Stompers League (to Oct 2011) (click to view)

league rules have been changed at the discretion of the Organiser - it was getting too hard to maintain the old format !!

rules:
1.) a point is awarded for attending
2.)  3, 2 or 1 point is awarded depending on how difficult the Fell race was (FRA category A, B or C)
3.)  3, 2 or 1 point is awarded depending on how long the Fell race was (FRA category L, M or S)
4.) other points awarded at the Organiser's discretion

all points added up to give you your running total. Easy!!

EHR LEAGUE 2010
The Ercall Hill Runners group league is now finished for 2010.
All the information, gossip, rumours and more that you need is contained on the EHR Report Page (click here - opens in a new window) . For 2011 the Group has decided to call itself the Ercall Stompers.

ALL THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION YOU NEED !!!

Fell Race Categories:
A fell race is one run on fell, hill or mountain terrain and shall be categorised as follows :
RACE CLIMB CATEGORIES:
Category “A”
a) Should average not less than 250' (76m) climb/mile (1.6k).
b) Should not have more than 20% of the race distance on road.
c) Should be at least one mile (1.6k) in length.
Category “B”
a) Should average not less than 125' (38m) climb/mile (1.6k).
b) Should not have more than 30% of the race distance on road.
Category “C”
a) Should average not less than 100' (30.4m) climb/mile (1.6k).
b) Should not have more than 40% of the race distance on road.
c) Should contain some genuine fell terrain.
RACE LENGTH CATEGORIES:
a) A category “L” (long) race is twelve miles (19.3k) or over.
b) A category “M” (medium) race is six miles (9.6k) and over but under twelve (19.3k).
c) A category “S” (short) race is under six miles (9.6k).
