Training run this sunday 14th March

Postby biker babe on Wed Mar 10, 2010 8:23 pm

Dear all,
I am embarrassed to admit that after years of being a member of Telford Harriers, i have never run the Ironbridge half, either as a race or in training, and do not know the route. I would like to run it as a training session this sunday ( thought it would also help with marshalling the following week), and wondered if there are any club members who know the route , who would like to join me and big D this sunday morning in a steady run of the half marathon route. We do have a map and a vague idea in parts !!
Thanks in advance-all offers welcome. Biker Babe.

BB, I raced the Ironbridge half ten years ago when it started and finished in Stirchley, however if you've got a map and with much of the route the same, I would love to join you and bigD on a steady run this Sunday as it may be ideal prep for next weeks Stafford half.

Many thanks- much appreciated. We plan to set off at 9.00 but happy to be flexible if that not convenient- think route starts somewhere in the town park by the arena ( sorry to be so vague !! ) so see you there sunday . Thanks- jean

Thanks to Biker Babe and Big D. :D
We had a fabulous run around the Ironbridge route this morning.
My apologies for adding an unnecessary half mile at the start and I messed up my timing at the 12th mile, got confused by Jeans sudden pace injection and forgot to add that mile on
I think that means we went about 13.5miles in about 2hrs. A perfect warm up for next week end.
Good luck to all at the Ironbridge half, marshalls and athletes.
Bring on Spring/Summer 2010.

Great minds think alike, just enjoying a very well earned glass of red............its the prelude to the cheese and port!
