Well done to Ironman Rob !!

Rob Day (above) took part in the 2010 Ironman UK at Bolton - a 2.4 mile open-water swim, 112-mile cycle, and a 26.2 mile marathon to finish
Rob finished an impressive 96th in his Category with an overall time of 14:16:19 :
Swim 1:22:52
Bike 7:47:58
Run 4:48:33
(No news as yet on his Ironman tattoo !!)
Rob's post-race words:
Thanks for all the good wishes.
Had a grand day out. Excellent event very well marshalled. The roadside support was fantastic. Such a feel good day.
Made so much more special that club members came to watch what turned out to be an extremely long day.
I certainly could not have done it without you.
Apart from sore knees & a burning achilles i feel fine today ( though somewhat tired ) so obviously didn't put enough effort in!
All went to plan except the last 10 or so miles when my knees seized up but as i kept telling myself
- The pain is temporary whereas giving up stays with you forever.
Hopefully my efforts will inspire a few Harriers & give them the confidence to have a go at a few events that they maybe thought were out of reach.
I'm nothing special & if i can do it anyone can.
I think the trick is to listen to yourself & no one else.
You know what you can do. Don't be put off by other peoples negativity.
you can see lots of photos of Rob's great day out on the Club's Flickr website
Tri News
In other news, Andy Wilkinson clocks an impressive 2.58 at the Barton Standard Tri;27th June - Day in the Lakes Tri - the club entered several teams (it was also a relay event) but star billing must go to Mike Sprason who completed the solo event, laying the ghosts of the 2009 event when he failed to finish.
Training;

Sometimes during the summer months we venture out to open-water swim in such places as Top Barn, Holt nr Worcester (water temp permitting)

Cycling training is by arrangement; we usually try and get a long ride
in most Spring/Summer Weekends when not competing. Presently we have
a session on Saturday mornings but these are subject to
