Another weekend and another busy few days racing for Telford Harriers as we see our runners taking on distances from 5k to marathons!
Despite a week of heavy rain, the sun came out for the 2019 Barmouth 10k race which was welcomed by all 350 competitors who were due to cover the 6.2 miles of costal running.
This fast, flat course is one of the most picturesque races in Wales where runners get to run around the town of Barmouth and event get to run over the iconic Barmouth bridge. The race was limited to 350 competitors but has been expanded to 1,000 for the 2020 race due to popularity.

Enigma Retro Cars, Caldecotte Lake Marathon
Staged by Enigma Running Club, the Enigma Retro Cars marathons were staged over Saturday and Sunday giving runners options on which race to participate in.
Restricted to 50 runners per marathon, Jon Edmonds was our lone Harrier competing in the Sunday marathon, consisting of 7 lake loops to make up the 26.2miles.
Jon had an amazing run, coming home in 3rd place overall with a time of 3:21:13.
Stone St Michaels 10k
The Stone 10K is a two lap, flat course through the popular town of Stone in Staffordshire. The race incorporates St Michael’s First School Summer Fayre making it a great day out for all the family.
Between 1986 and 1995 the Stone St Michael's 10K Road Race became a popular event in Staffordshire noted for its fast, flat course. Organised by the P.T.A. for the benefit of the children who attended St Michael's First School.
Sadly in 1995 the event was stopped due to safety concerns, but 2005 saw the re-launch of the race which once again featured many local and international runners, last year's 500 runners helped raise over £3000 for charity.
Jamie Anderson and Michael Smith were our Harriers contingent for this race, registering the following results:

2019 Salomon Trail Half Marathon Wales
The Salomon Trail Marathon Wales will have full (26 mile / 42km) and half (13mile / 21 km) marathon race routes in the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin forest in the Snowdonia National Park.
This unique marathon and half marathon is already established as one of Wales’ finest trail races taking in fully marked trail single track, forest roads and paths in some of the most stunning forestry and heathland in the UK.
Naomi Ashmore was out lone competitor for this years half marathon race, coming home in 230th overall, 60th gender position and with a time of 02:30:17
