On a relatively quiet race weekend Telford Harriers could still be seen flying the green and gold flag at a number of races over the weekend.
Held on Saturday 3rd November, RunTatton 10k is a picturesque race held at Tatton Park. Tatton Park is one of the UK’s most beautiful historic estates, situated just North of Knutsford. Housed in 1000s of acres of the deer park lies a neo classical mansion, award winning gardens, a working farm and the Tudor Old Hall. It’s one of the North West’s top tourist attractions which hosts 100s events a year.
Karen Foreman made the trip down the M6 to take part in this race and ended us securing a PB in the process with the following time
Position 285th 52:41
Karen also secured 4th in her V55 age category which was an excellent result.
Spooky Sprint Marathon
The HALLOWEEN 10IN10 race series, combined a total of 10 races over 10 days, starting on 26th October. The Spooky Sprint Marathon was the race of choice for Steve Walker as preparation for the Valencia Marathon in December.
The route is a multi-lap course with each lap approximately 6 miles.
The terrain is mainly tarmac, on quiet lanes through picturesque countryside. With the exception of one small hill the route is generally flat.
Steve had a excellent performance coming home in a great time of 3hr 39min.
We had a few runners at Parkrun this weekend also. Jon and Sonia Edmonds made the trip to Bideford at the weekend and decided to give their Parkrun a try.
This 5k race was 3.5 laps of the course of which 30% was on grass and provided a testing run for both runners.
Jon put on an excellent performance and came home in 1st place in a time of 19.50 and recording his fastest time for 3.5 years. Sonia managed to get bang on 30 mins and was 51st place.
Closer to home, Phil Shieber ran Telford Parkrun and secured a new 5k PB coming home in 25:33.
