Another race weekend came and went as the Telford Harriers competed in trails, Wales and Parkrun races.
Cannock Chase 10k Trail
The 2019 event was the 6th running of the Cannock Chase 10K. Based in the Area of Outstanding Natural beauty of Cannock Chase, the Cannock Chase 10K offers an off road alternative to most conventional 10K road races. No concrete, no traffic; just nature, woodlands and peace. Running through the heart of the forest, the course takes in some of Cannock’s finest scenery and is entirely off road.
We had a small number of Harriers take part in this race, results as follows
Barry Island 10k
Sun, sea, and sand provided the backdrop to the ABP Barry Island 10K – which brings a summertime festival of running to the popular seaside resort with a 10K race and family fun run. A firm favourite with runners – renowned for it’s varied and scenic route, unbeatable crowd support and feel-good atmosphere.
The 10K race took place on fully closed roads with rewarding route showcasing all of the town’s most scenic seaside spots and recognisable landmarks – including Whitmore Bay, the Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay.
Harriers had a small attendance at the race all donning the green and gold and looking to secure some good 10k times.
Our runners cam home with the following times:
